The Programme

Students who complete Year I will have a thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of foreign trade and practical aspects of exporting, particularly at an administrative level. Students will acquire the skills to administer a consignment from source to destination, accurately calculate the export cost of a consignment, select an appropriate method of payment and effectively communicate with people of differing cultures.

Year II of the Diploma in Export Management provides the skills necessary to function efficiently, effectively and profitably in the international trace environment. The skills gained in Year I are expanded to include aspects of foreign exchange risk; documentation and marine insurance; international marketing and the legal framework within which international trade takes place.

After the third year of the Diploma, students will have gained the knowledge and acquired the skills to lead an international division. The course focuses on the management principles and different export strategies that can be applied by the exporter in international trade. It includes the implementation of an export development plan and takes into account marketing, financial, legal, production, human resou4rces and other relevant business aspects.
